Mietta's Review
An 1825 sandstone cottage still shows its heritage as it hosts its latest owners, Monique Maul and Anthony Milroy. Together they produce fine modern Australian food of the Neil Perry school (they both worked at his establishments). A warm welcome awaits the modern day traveller who can dine inside by the open fire in winter or sit outside in warmer weather. If your fancy is for something light try their excellent coffee and scones.

Gourmet Traveller 2012 Australian Restaurant Guide Score: One Star "Lochiel House is a great proponent of the idea that" country" doesn't always have to equal "rustic". Not on the plate, at any rate; the historical cottage it occupies is traditional with a capital T, even if the major-highway setting isn't exactly capital-P pastoral"

The Australian A List, 50 Great Australian Restaurants, John Lethlean, Necia Wilden, 5-09-09 "A young husband-and-wife team, good enough to make it in top city restaurants, feel the call of the country; after travelling, they find a sweetly restored 1825 cottage in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, the perfect setting for their whimsical, individual style of food"

Gourmet Traveller 2010 Australian Restaurant Guide "A stint in an ashram counts among the life experiences of owner-chefs Monique Maul and Anthony Miiroy. It doesn't manifest literally, but you might perceive it in the sense of community with which this restaurant set in an 1825 house is imbued: wait-staff greet friends with a hug, and local growers and producers are well supported"

Sydney Eats 2009 "Committed to supporting local growers and showcasing local produce, chef/owners Monique Maul and Anthd Milroy have gained a reputation for presenting a fresh, high-quality menu with a touch ofAsia and the Mediterranean"
