Mietta's Review
This modern Mediterranean (Greek) restaurant nestles in the very pleasant, high ceilinged space that once house Johnny Walker's Steakhouse. Nowdays well-spaced white-clothed tables provide a sense of occasion for the well cooked dishes of Costa Skamnidis. They have a lunch special of one course, salad and a glass of wine for $25.

Other published opinions

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "A new alfresco area has added a relaxed openness to Miltons' enormous, secret cavern-like interior. Bright and airy despite no windows, the restaurant boasts ceilings that soar"

Sydney Eats 2008 "An attractive restaurant in the CBD, the main dining room is downstairs, while the ground floor houses a private dining room and the bar"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 13/20 "In the heart of Sydney's cramped and often grey CBD, the basement room of Miltons is surprisingly light and spacious, with soaring ceilings, generously spaced tables and big leather banquettes to make you feel instantly comfy."

Sydney Eats 2006 "a seriously elegant modern Mediterranean restaurant with a name like Miltons. Have you ever met a Greek called Milton? Or an Italian? But there you have it, with highbacked chairs, serious glassware, well-spaced linen-clothed tables, long white banquettes and all."

SMH Good Food Guide 2005 Score 14/20 "It seems only right that Greeks are back in the news. But to call Costa Skamnidis's swank eatery Greek is only the beginning. In the high-ceilinged room that once housed Johnny Walker's Steakhouse, Costa and sister Aneza Skamnidis-Ulmer have opened a mod Mediterranean bistro."

Sydney Eats 2005 "This elegant space is large and high-ceilinged, with an enormous urn mural featuring on one wall and big, pendulous lampshades throughout. High-backed chairs and well-spaced linen-clothed tables add to the comfortable feel. The owners are Greek, but the food is mod Med with some Greek gracenotes"

SMH, good living, 27/1/04, Matthew Evans, score 14/20,'A great dining room in the city offers a please-all menu...It's smart dining, with all the accoutrements of fine glassware, a decent wine list and staff who have something of the classic waiter about them...Miltons stands out from the crowd.'
