The Gardens are home to Australia's oldest date palms brought out by Afghans more than a century ago. A quiet place with a small pavillion and garden tables where you can eat dates in various forms - straight, but also in scones, cake, biscuits and ice cream. Also home to a small entourage of some very well fed wallabys, very tame galahs and ducks.
