Mietta's Review
It's all they say it is. Sliding glass overlooks the beach accessed via a small mall off Hastings Street. You will recognise it by the lime green canopies. This natty litle bistro, like the waiting staff, is casual, snappy and stylish and gives quality for your dollar. The small wine list works well with plenty by the glass including French bubbly. The kitchen is manned by experts, headed up by Bruno Loubet who knows about the delicate balance of flavour and texture. This is the place for up market fish dishes, salads and good sauces. Their desserts are sublime and delicate. In 06 mains averaged $25.

Queensland Food and Wine 2010 Guide Score: 15.5/20, One Star "Without too much fuss or apparent bother. Berardo's on the Beach squeezes a whole lot of goodness into a small package. It features a strong bent toward good local ingredients (which the waters and hinterland of Noosa have in spades) and presents them simply without pretension"

Courier Mail Food and Wine Guide 2009 Queensland Score: 15.5/20, One Hat "Greg O'Brien Floor-to-ceiling slide-away windows otter some of the best views of all of Noosa's restaurants. Just metres from the sand at the resort town's Laguna Beach, diners can keep an eye on surf conditions without moving a muscle"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "Inspired by the French Riviera, this casual eatery's bi-fold windows allow you to breathe in the sea air and hear the waves crashing on the beach while you tuck into sensational surfside fare from Shane Bailey (ex-Donovan's in Melbourne)"

Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide "The beach is only a skip and a hop away from this buzzy, sunny spot and in high summer, a quick dip between courses is the perfect palate cleanser. Oscillating between cafe and bistro, Berardo's is open all day. Fresh, imaginative, uncluttered food is the mantra here, in sync with local growers' produce."

Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide "The perfect seaside bistro, this is a great place to sit and relax as you look out onto the passing parade of holidaymakers and the sparkling waters of Laguna Bay. Service is appropriately relaxed and friendly, but always brisk and efficient, and a small well-priced wine list is available."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 2006 ** "Salty breezes and stunning views are the backdrop of this boardwalk bistro in the heart of Hastings 5h beachside. Glass walls fold away when weather permits to bring the outside in and create the feeling that, while you may be comfortably seated in a restaurant, your toes could still be in the sand"

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "Kick back and relax at this slick bistro, the sister operation to Berardo's Restaurant and Bar. Snare a table close to the beach and let the Noosa magic get to work on taking the stress levels down."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "The restaurant section opens out via sliding glass panels on to the beach and serves wonderfully crisp salads, light risottos and a host of seafood and other meals, plus freshly squeezed juices, from breakfast and beyond."

Gourmet Traveller Australian Restaurant Guide 2005 "The casual baby brother of Berardo's, On the Beach occupies a fabulous position overlooking the waters of Laguna Bay. The space is bright and airy and usually chockful of diners, as well as hopefuls waiting for a table. The atmosphere, often bustling and noisy, is one of relaxed good cheer."

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "The sister restaurant to the now legendary Berardo's Restaurant and Bar a few paces up the road, this more casual sibling is smack bang on the beach so don't fuss if you come in covered in sand."

Sydney Morning Herald GFG 2004

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,1 Red Star,'Don't be surprised to see sand-encrusted feet under tables and diners slipping off for a quaick dip between courses at this bistro on the edge of Laguna Bay...The blackboard menu is small but changes daily and features local seafood...The wine list is small but more than adequate, and service is brisk and congenial.'
