Mietta's Review
To create his new Taverna Kosta has renovated the old Airey's Foodhaven opposite the pub adding a large deck for outdoor eating. It's good to see Kosta on the floor meeting, greeting and keeping an eye on the service. The room is clean and modern, white walls with dramtic splashes of colour and a straw lined pitched roof. The setting is good, red gum tables, linen napkins and respectable cutlery. As expected good Greek food is provided by Pam Talihmanidis, Kosta's wife.

Other published opinions

Age Good Food Guide 2009 Score: 14.5/20 "Aireys Inlet represented a fresh beginning for legendary restaurateur Kosta Talimanidis when he opened A La Grecque with his family in 2004, but this popular place already feels like part of the Surf-Coast landscape"

Gourmet Traveller 2009 Australian Restaurant Guide "A hilltop Greek taverna with white-washed walls, black lino floors, sea views, and a breezy informality. Is this the island of Alonissos, by way of Aireys Inlet? A large outdoor area fills with tourists on sunny afternoons"

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 14/20 "Kosta's in Lorne was years ahead of its Melbourne counterparts in presenting Greek cuisine with a refined and contemporary edge, while preserving the lively, casual atmosphere of an island taverna"

Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide "Along this stretch of the Great Ocean Road, a whole generation of locals and tourists have been fed and watered and sent on their way with a smile by the Talimanidis family"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 14/20 "Kosta Talimanidis created an iconic eatery when he opened Kosta's on the Lorne esplanade in 1976. Now he has transplanted the great food and good vibes to this white-walled roadhouse in Aireys Inlet and his loyal band of followers are happily trekking down the coast road to see him."

Gourmet Traveller 2006 restaurant guide "The drive down the coast just got better, because A la Grecque has some lovely Greek food waiting for you around the bend. In summer, a table on the deck is a top spot, or a perfect one with a bottle of riesling chosen from the small but well-considered wine list."

Herald Sun 15/2/05 Stephen Downes 17/20 "WHEN Kosta Talimanidis and his wife, Pam, had Kosta's at Lorne there was no better eating out on the Surf Coast. Since opening a la grecque late last year at Aireys Inlet, they have outdone themselves."
