The Age Matt Preston, 9-9-2008 "It's easy to make things out in the light and surprisingly cavernous cafe that's a welcome arrival into the comparative cafe wasteland of the suburb that, somewhat ironically, is the spiritual home of the cafe latte set. ... at Grapeseed the feel is far lighter. A checkerboard floor, cushion-strewn bench along the front wall and white communal table with sleek black and white painted bent ply chairs gives a casual, almost beachy feel. It's a deep room with muted tones and a loose mural of a curling vine, but there's loads of natural light filtering in through expanses of the glass roof that has been partially batoned with what looks like strips from a digger's bark hut."

Herald Sun Stephen Downes, 1-07-08 Score: *** "Herald Sun Offerings are simple and elegantly cooked at Grapeseed, a place with refinement and plenty of flavour"

Herald Sun Stephen Downes, 22-04-08 Score: 14/20 "Despite the simplicity and limits of Grapeseed's tucker, It has due refinement and plenty of flavour. A wine list of 11 table whites, a rose and 14 reds is expensive. Many drops are Italian, and three whites, the same number of reds and the rose are sold by glass."
