Mietta's Review
The creator of the Turtle Cafe has transformed an old run down milk bar - but not completely, so to speak. One side of the cafe is an authentic re-creation of a 1950's milk bar - original curved glass display counters and milk shake mixers. A nostalgic trip back in time. But these days you can enjoy this milk bar with your own bottle of wine and a plate of pasta or pancakes or bacon and eggs cooked how you like it.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "With bowls of raspberries, milk bottles and snakes behind the counter, this bustling cafe evokes the classic milk bars of yore and is a haven for the kid in everyone"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Nostalgia reigns here. Milkshakes come in tall metal cups and kids buy $2 bags of mixed lollies to go. Others eyeball the Portuguese tarts, choc brownies and yo-yos on the original lolly counter."

Herald Sun Cafe Culture Donna Coutts 11/10/05 score 12/20 "Cute building but a little too much clutter. Friendly, effective service. Mixed success on the eats."
