Mietta's Review
Go up the rather grotty staircase to the second floor to Crossways and escape from the bustle of the city below. The Hare Krishna spiritual vegetarian food with all you can eat for $6 ($4.50 concession price) or doing a half an hour's work, is pretty hard to beat on a low budget. Krishna consciousness has probably triggered early retirement for scores of overstressed office workers and public servants. The first floor dining area is more like a dining hall with mainly young, good looking people, eating on the cheap. Crossways food is prepared daily at the Hare Krishna Temple in Port Melbourne and brought in to the city. The traditional Indian food has been modified for western tastes, there are no heavy spices. Providing the food is a vital part of the spiritual beliefs of the Hare Krishna movement.

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "LITTLE has changed over the years at Crossways, the Hare Krishna's all-you-can-eat bolthole, where robed devotees ladle up simple meals for the vegetarian masses."
