Mietta's Review
Though Kuni Ickikawa has moved to the warmer climes of Bali his restaurant (under its new management) remains a favourite of many. You can enjoy either a quick lunch, or a longer more relaxed meal in the light pine-furnished dining room. Always busy, with a varied clientele.

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 12/20 "Once a leading light of Japanese food in Melbourne, this 1977 veteran is these days looking a touch worn around the edges. While the dining room's box lightshades offer an interesting modern take on the traditional design, beige is still beige and Kuni's has lots of it"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 12/20 "Think of Kuni's as a faithful family labrador reliable, loveable, but unlikely to startle you with a new trick. One of Melbourne's longest-serving Japanese restaurants, with 25-plus years under its belt, it has that relaxed competency you find in places like Pellegrini's."

AGFG 2004, score 14/20
