Mietta's Review
Lunchtimes are very busy, mainly with takeaway at Sheni's which offers a good range of curries at reasonable prices. You can sit at the window bench or at one of the four tables inside. People like the "good, clean food which is served quickly," and cite it as "one of the best cheap lunches in Melbourne." Then there's usually a queue at the door here and with its step down to half a flight below street level, this little business has a "New York feel".

The Age Cheap Eats 2009 "Sheni's can plateup a curry quicker than you can say. How much is that?'. (The answer: cheap!) Grab a seat if you're lucky, or queue with office workers for a heaped takeaway container"
The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "Like Sri Lanka itself, Sheni's is exotic, varied, at times extremely hot - but not particularly vast"
The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Sitting down is rarely an option at Sheni's. The tiny curry house fits few bums on seats and there's often more clamouring for its brilliant range of Sri Lankan dishes than it can accommodate."
