Mietta's Review
Now relocated to tendy Greville St. The premises are smaller but the food is still well-done modern Japanese (fusion as it was once called). If that's your thing join the like-minded families, fashionable gays and bright young things. Wel-priced wines and good service.

Other published opinions

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 12.5/20 "Loyal diners have followed Mizu's migration from Commercial Road to its more contemporary Greville Street home opposite Prahran station"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Tiny Mizu has settled beautifully into Greville Street since its move from Commercial Road, its swish decor of purple and green walls, banquette seating and white chairs right at home among the street's designer boutiques."

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 13/20 "There aren't many Japanese restaurants that offer the option of dining outdoors in a pebble courtyard, so it's a surprise to come across just such a space behind Mizu, an unpretentious little restaurant in the busy Commercial Road shopping strip. Granted, it's no verdant wonderland, consisting of a couple of timber outdoor settings, white gravel and a fishpond, but it's a pleasant enough spot on a balmy evening."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "CHOOSE carefully and you can eat very well at Mizu. The extensive menu takes a something for everybody' approach (including vegetarian versions of standards like gyoza and teriyaki) but the democratic attitude doesn't always produce quality results."

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "THE industrial facade and sleek interior seem a little forbidding but friendly service and amusing daily specials written on little Post-It notes make you feel more than welcome."

The Age Cheap Eats 2004,Good vegetarian options,Somewhere we highly recommend,'Satisfy your fusion cravings at moody, groovy Mizu with slurpy mentaiko spaghetti, coated in chilli-spiked fish roe,or conform to the norm with generous platters of sushi and sashimi, and steaming bowls of udon or soba noodles.'

AGFG 2004, score 13/20, two courses for $25 or less
