Mietta's Review
Fine Cantonese food of a quality you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. The fish is at market prices and, as soon as you order, it is delivered flapping from the seafood shop next door. Very popular with Chinese families who know good seafood when they see it. The roast duck is also a speciality. The simple laminex decor belies the care in the kitchen. Recommended. A new restaurant, Pacific Seafood BBQ House was opened in early 2003, at Shop 1, 210 Toorak Road, South Yarra, 03 9826 3838.

The Age Cheap Eats 2004 "DON'T think that a booking will secure you a spot at this pumping Chinese cafe. At best, it might help you edge up the queue. Put the inevitable wait to use by studying the specials covering the walls"

Herald Sun, citystyle, "National Treasures", Bob Hart, 8/4/03. Best Vietnamese.

The Australian, Stephen Downes, 4/3/00 The Age, Sunday Life, 30.5.99 "On a blustery Tuesday evening, this five month old Hong Kong style eatery presented an impressive sight: practically every table was filled with Cantonese speakers, tucking into staples such as steamed barramundi, soy sauce chicken and bbq pork or duck with rice. the waitress suggested yao nam poh a stew of lamb brisket ($18, but the combination of lamb bits, mushrooms bamboo shoots and spring onion turned out too rich for delicate stomachs. Far more enjoyable was the fishermans tofu a unique recipe of lightly fried beancurd sittting on a bead of crispy pork and a spinkling of red and green chillies. Oddly though some of our entrees didn't appear. "We thought you were already eating too much" said the waitress to our astonishment, but she was right."
