Mietta's Review
On the banks of the river in South Yarra is Kanteen - a few table and a tent surround a strategically placed amenities block. Give our desperation for health and then the need to recover from its quest this fabulous outdoor cafe next to jogging and cydling tracks does a roaring (or for some, gasping) trade. Coffee, breakfasts, filled breads and a hot dish or two, modestly priced can allay the pain and allow a virtous glow of self congratulation to take over.

Herald Sun Zoe Skewes, 30-05-09 "FIRST impressions count. At least I thought they did. But had I judged Kanteen by its cover. I would have returned only when nature called. And then only in an emergency. Because, after hours"

The Pound 9826 1114, 5/ 566 Chapel St, South Yarra - Sit on a crate like seats on a footpath just off Chapel Street, look at the grooviness of The Pound. The service is friendly, sometimes, and the menu short but tasty.
