Mietta's Review
It feels a bit like a student house albeit an orange one and it has a great hidden garden with a big old peppercorn out the back. There's a large Orange awning and sign out front, orange walls, menus, cups, straws, bead curtain, all topped off with a melody of subtle oranges within a true 70's patterned wallpaper at its best/worst on the bar and shop fronts. Nice music which could even include classical piano. The mixed modern menu and friendly service top off the package.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "IT'S not Paris, but late at night the care-worn furniture, chocolate paint work and retro vinyl selection has a distinctly south-of-the-Seine feel. Breakfast runs all day, offering up everything from righteously restorative fry-ups"

The Age Cheap Eats 2004,Excellent breakfast,Good vegetarian options,Good Bar,Somewhere really special,'Orange is a Chapel Street fixture. The grungy interior is the place to linger, whether you're nursing a hangover in the morning or a cocktail in the wee hours. In between,Orange serves up comprehensive all-day breakfasts, good solid lunches and more upmarket dinners.'

The Age Take 5 Nina Rousseau 9/04 "Orange is old enough to be comfy, young enough to look good. Brown booths, stainedglass windows and dark panelling give a library feel, but only ironic nerds are found here. Scenesters spend hours in Orange's footpath "lounge room" swilling NZ and Aussie wines and staff have too much 'tude to smile."

The Age, Epicure, 14/10/03, Nikki Fisher,'Italy meets Asia...You can sit inside and crunch away to the tunes this classic Windsor spot is famous for'

Sunday Life, The Way We Live, 20/7/03, Dani Valent,'The scensters keep coming back to Orange for the cool beats on the turntable, good coffee, stonking egg breakfasts and reliable meals.'

The Age, A2, Food & Wine, 19/7/03, Thomas Hunter,'Part nightclub, part artsy-cafe, and part serious restaurant, Orange is openly fashion concious and welcoming.'
