Mietta's Review
This smart young restaurant suggests quality from the decor to the food. Fluoro green and orange chairs out front are the first thing to catch your eye, then the quality fitout indoors a nice bar and efficient staff complete the feel. They may be a little stretched having opened the sister restaurant Vat 2 in Bussellton, however it may be a short term thing. The menu is promising and comprehensive, the coffee is good.

Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide "Before the wine boom, the main street of Margaret River used to get the odd timber truck"

Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide "A change of chef and a swift boot, courtesy of increased competition on the dining-out strip, have seen this Margaret River icon lift its game. Chef Mark Griffiths has settled in nicely and is showing more than a dash of innovation. Entrees are a particular strength, notably the haricot bean and Turkish sausage cassoulet with parsley and tangelo gremolata."

Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide * "When long-term chef Dany Angoveleft Vat 107, word got around that it had lost its way. But owners Jenny Spencer and Gary Cream - who also run sister restaurant Vat 2 in Bunbury put their faith in young chef Jamie Farrer and 107 has regained its position as one ofthe best places to eat"

Gourmet Traveller 2005 Australian Restaurant Guide "A popular, sassy, city bistro-style restaurant, Vat 107 tries hard to please. It set a new and slightly daring style when it opened and gets most things right. The food has flair and is ambitious"

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,'1 Black Star,'With its leather-backed banquettes and large, glitzy wine bar, this sleek, modern brasserie on Margaret River's main drag it the town's finest...fresh, feel-good fare is consistently good, and bears proud witness to his preoccupation with organic produce...extensive menu...You can stay overnight in one of the rooms upstairs'
