Mietta's Review
A Perth institution, as is it's owner. Suspended over the water, attended by smooth professional waiters, this is a very glamourous experience. Accessibility (for the wealthy) is the name of the game as Mead's is open from breakfast lunch and dinner every day. Sit at the oyster bar for excellent freshly opened oysters with a glass of champagne, or take in the views at a table.

Other published opinions

Paul Eats Perth 06 "I would go back to Mead's for special occasions, to enjoy the beautiful views, any time of day. (Even at night one can actually see small fish in the shallow waters.) Also, I like the idea of a menu that varies a bit, and offers such fresh and delicious seafood."

Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide "Warren Mead's spectacular Mosman Bay restaurant on the Swan River is the flagship ofthe four Oyster Bars, with a fifth due to open in the CBD early in 2006. A class act, it buzzes with a mix of well-heeled locals, tourists and business types; stylish without being intimidating."

Gourmet Traveller 2005 Australian Restaurant Guide "Mead's style is at once hedonistic yet ocker and there's something comfortingly ordinary about the food in this fairly ostentatious dining room. It has evolved into a space where patrons feel at once special and at home."

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,'It's a spectacular place to eat, perched as it is over the Swan River, with the water rippling underneath. The restaurant has some of that comfortably old-fashioned,fine-dining feel, though it is determinedly contemporary. The service is professional and attentive...the oysters, which come in a variety of ways to cater all tastes...The wine list is extensive'
