Gourmet Traveller 2013 Australian Restaurant Guide "From its waterside address to the depths of its cellar, much of Halo's appeal is liquid-based. But while the Swan River vista might conjure images of a restaurant content to rest on the laurels of its views, the affable staff patrolling the contemporary room ensure diner-enjoyment remains central"
West Australian Good Food Guide 2012 Score: 16/20 One Star "GOODNESS KNOWS why, but you never hear much buzz about Halo, and yet it epitomises Perth so well. Sitting pretty on Barrack Street jetty, it is all about fine dining and exemplary service civilised even further by point-blank river views and laid-back music"
The West Australian Good Food Guide 2011 Score: 16/20 One Star "This jetty-side restaurant not only boasts one of Perth's most glorious views, but can lay claim to some of the city's best food"
Gourmet Traveller 2011 Australian Restaurant Guide "Halo's elegant riverside dining room offers a commanding setting on the banks of the Swan River. Fewer cranes pepper the city horizon nowadays; the impressive skyline is only temporarily obscured as wait-staff with exotic accents glide past"
Gourmet Traveller 2010 Australian Restaurant Guide "Life's good, sitting on the veranda of Halo on a warm afternoon with the bustle of Perth's ferry terminal breathing life into the Swan River. Watch the sail boats tipping over, safe in the knowledge that chef Rainer Konstanty has things on an even keel at this atmospheric weatherboard shack"
Gourmet Traveller 2009 Australian Restaurant Guide "When you book, ask for a table with a view; it would be a pity to miss out on one of the restaurant's great attributes. Halo's location on the Swan River, the consistently good food and thoughtfully constructed wine list have made it a popular venue - one better enjoyed in warm weather when you can sit on the boardwalk and play spot the dolphin"
Sunday Times Gail Williams, 20-08-06 Score: 3.5 stars out of 5 "it's a menu which reads like a banquet served in heaven, with contemporary Australian the predominant cuisine. But a well-written menu needs to do more than just make you salivate. The fact that Halo has a string of Gold Plate Awards added to the expectations and, after a dazzling high with the outstanding entrees, there were few disappointments over three indulgent courses."
West Australian Daile Pepper, 2-11-06 Score: 16/20 "Halo, sitting atop the jetty at Barrack Street, is the type of place where diamond rings are exchanged regularly. During the hotter months, the plastic wind shields that provide some shelter from the not-sowarm breeze are taken down, making sitting outside with the water lapping at the pylons beneath a real pleasure. But even if the sun hasn't come to the party on the day you eat there, it's a fine venue to knock back a cocktail and sample the dishes that all hit the spot on the night we visited."
Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide "A smart and sunny pier-side proposition perched right on the Swan River, Halo is ringside to the busy ferry traffic and tourist trade. The contemporary decor is all about sharp, shiny surfaces - polished wood, steel and glass"
