Mietta's Review
Everything you'd expect from a big busy Chinese Restaurant except the sticky carpet. Crowds of people, waiters everywhere, yum cha trolleys, chandeliers ... Baskets of excellent light flavoured, fresh morsels come flying out of the kitchen to be consumed by an ever changing crowd of diners. The Regal competes with its sister restaurant, Marigold Citymark (Levels 4 & 5, 683-689 George St, 9281 3388) for yum cha supremacy. The trolley action can be pretty intense at lunch time. A la carte specialises in seafood fresh from the tanks. The food quality, low prices and quick, unobtrusive service make this a hard place to pass up.

Sydney Eats 2009 "If you like to eat, chances are you've had yum cha at the Regal. If you're Chinese, you probably got married there - or know someone who did"

Sydney Eats 2008 "What is it about yum cha and chandeliers? Like its big sis Marigold Citymark, the only slightly smaller Regal has got that post-colonial bling thing going on - or is it neo-Vegas? but the jostling crowds are there for the 100 or more (who's counting?) dim sum dishes, from $2.50"
Sydney Eats 2006 "An outpost of Chinatown north, this place continues to pack in the yum cha munchers every weekend which, considering it's a little off the beaten track, does point to the quality of the food."

Sydney Eats 2005 "This is certainly the spot for some serious trolley action. Everywhere you look, smiling waiters and carts whizz past, ferrying out more than 100 different yum cha dishes. It's hard to keep up"
